Can i get married in Greece?
Getting married abrod might seem for many people almost impossible. Actually is much more simple than it seems.
The only major request is to be a citizen of one of the
member states of the Hague Convention
"The Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents (Hague Apostille Convention) facilitates the circulation of public documents executed in one State party to the Convention and to be produced in another State party to the Convention. It does so by replacing the cumbersome and often costly formalities of a full legalisation process with the mere issuance of an Apostille (also called Apostille Certificate or Certificate)
Is the civil marriage in Greece recognized in my country?
Yes, you have to register your marriage certificate when you're going back to your country
What documents are needed to get married in greece?
1. Both parties must obtain Full Birth Certificate
2. Certificate of impediments to the marriage - the document certifies that both parties are free to get married and can be obtained from Register Office of their hometown. This certificate must not be issued more than 3 months before the wedding day
3. Decree absolute - if any of the parties is divorced, a Certified Copy of the Decree Absolute must be obtained. If any of the parties is a widower, a Death Certificate must be obtained.
4. Adoption Certificate - necessary if any of the parties has been adopted
5. Deed Poll - if there has been any change of name by fighter party, a copy of the Deed Poll is required
All documents must be translated in Greek and must have the apostil (stamp of the External Affairs Ministry from the country of origin).
When you need my documents?
A copy of all this documents must be sent to us minimum 4 weeks before the wedding date. Also, don't forget to bring with you the originals
What is apostilla?
The documents must be authenticated for use abroad. This is also called legalization of the document. Authentication means that a seal is placed on the document which will be recognized in the foreign country where the document will be used.
Apostilles may only be issued by a Competent Authority designated by the State on whose territory the public document has been executed.
Can i have JUST A SIMPLE wedding?
You can have as simplest as you want. Aya weddings doesn't choose its customer. The customers are choosing us!
What if it's only me and my fiance traveling? Can we have a civil ceremony?
If it's only you and your fiance traveling, you will need two witnesses. We provide as well this service with no extra cost
When should I book my wedding?
The earlier, the better. Depends also of the services requested. If implicates hotel reservation and reception for a big number of persons then you need to write to us at least 6 month prior the wedding and the booking to be made at least 3 monthes prior the event.
If you're planning a small ceremony than, you still have to right to us you intentions and request about 3 monthes prior but the booking can be made 1 month before.
When and how do i pay?
The first payment (20% from the entire order) has to be done at the time of the booking using our online payment system.
The last payment (80%) will be made at the end of your wedding (this is your guarantee)
Is it safe to pay online?
Yes, for the simple reason that the card details will not be registred in our website, but straight in the Alfa Bank, online payment
Can I have a brochure from AYA Weddings with all services?
As you can see, Aya Weddings has a big number of services. Considering that we often add and/or change providers, locations, products you will understand that it's quite impossible for us to put together an entire catalog which, after few monthes need adding/changes.
Am i going to have a wedding coordinator (planner)? What he will do for me?
Yes, you will have a wedding coordinator; His/her job will be to ensure that she discusted with you all the details, comes with sugestions and, maybe the most important, TAKES CARE OF YOUR BUDGET. Depending on your request he/she will gather all the offers trying to meet the perfect balance quality/price
Do I need a minimum number of guests for having a reception?
No, we don't have a minimal limit. A reception can be made for 2,4 or 200 persons. Of course, as a cost per person (due to the policy practice by hotels/restaurants) the bigger is the amount of persons, the lower goes the price.
When using the customizing tool, do I also need to add a wedding package?
When you use the customization you already create package. Don't forget to name it so, next time when you are comming back you can check it and create another packages using different names.
In which language will be held the ceremony?
The civil ceremony will be held in greek and a transaltion generaly made by your wedding coordinator will be done in english. Of course, we can have translator for almost any international language
Can i ask for services/products which you didn't present them on the website?
When we created Aya Weddings and this website we did our best to be complete. Even today we add, change products/services. For us will be a pleasure to create you dream wedding. |
