“Courtly love” began around 1100 starting in Southern France and the new behavior code get popular thru romance literature. Romantic poetry and prose emphasized the ennobling power of love, the concept of passionate and inextinguishable love, and the elevation of the beloved women to a superior position over her male suitor.
This was a dramatic change in the cultural attitude toward noble women, though common women were still viewed mostly as property.
Medieval marriage was still the province of the church and the sacrament of matrimony was central to Christian doctrine. Grooms were much older than their brides (more than ¾ were married before they reached 19).
Every part of the women face was painted with some type of cosmetic and also the young women were plucking their hairline in order to realize a higher forehead. A wedding might the one time a women would wear her hair loose. Others would weave flowers into their hair to make a floral crown.
"Medieval society was different, but not so different as to be totally alien to what we experience in the 20th century.Aya weddings takes care of medieval marriage customs, medieval customs, Greece medieval customs."
